This tool is simply called a "Weed Wiper"

After walking many fields and talking to many customers, I have come across a very simple and cheap way to control weeds in certain grass crops.

I built the wiper myself using a couple of leaf springs from a junk yard, and some PVC pipe and cloth. Yes I am sure there is someone out there who is building this or making something better but this is something cheap and works for me.

I put these Photos on this website to simply show farmers how I did it so you can build one for yourself.

I simply fill the pipe with roundup at the same concentration I go to spray with through the valve and then close immediately.

Then when I am ready to start wiping, I simply open the valve to allow air to come into the pipe and then the roundup will soak the cloth.

Then I start driving and set the pipe height to just about the grass height and hopefully catch the weeds.

I be sure to drive slow so that the weeds are soaked with the roundup.

Don’t open the valve all the way, just simply open it a little to allow some air into it, the more open the valve is the more roundup will come out and you don’t want the cloth to drip any, just want it to be wet.

The chain is adjustable so it can be quickly adjusted in the field. The PVC pipe has lots of very tiny holes in it and then wrapped in cloth and glued on the top side to hold it.

Well good luck with this and hope it helps some farmers to control unwanted weeds a little better.
